How often are we as designers asked to "create a brand" that must co-exist with, complement, or extend an existing collegiate identity system? What happens when you need to co-brand: add the name of a school, the name of a program, or create a flexible identity system? How does your visual brand work outside of the context of the institution? By applying the principles of progressive disclosure, its possible to create a framework that extends a collegiate visual brand while maintaining its legacy, equity, and integrity.
This presentation was based on the article Designing for the Future: Extending a Collegiate Brand Identity System.
